The North Carolina Tar Heels are tipping off against Wofford on Friday night, playing their second game of the 2026-27 season. After a win over Western Carolina, UNC is looking to go 2-0 with a win over the Terriers. As they host that game on Friday, there will be a very important recruit in attendance.
International prospect Matija Lukić is on a visit to UNC as he’s wrapping up a 10-day trip to the United States to visit programs. Lukic was expected to visit eight programs but has recently cancelled visits to BYU and Utah, a sign that he’s ready to make a decision soon.
For Lukic, two of his visits are to North Carolina and Duke which could set up a big Blue Blood Battle per Joe Tipton of On3.
The 6-foot-9 small forward also visited NC State, UConn, and Boston College in addition to UNC and Duke. He’s among the top international recruits and one of the best players on the Serbian team. The wing is a good shooter and would be a nice international get for the Tar Heels.
