Florida Atlantic transfer Maxim Logue has committed to UNC basketball, giving first-year coach Michael Malone and the Tar Heels some post depth for the 2026-27 season.
A 6-foot-9, 232-pound big man with a reported 7-foot-4 wingspan, Logue averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game for the Owls as a sophomore after spending his freshman season at Oregon State. He missed nearly a month of the season with a foot injury, but appeared in 28 games. Logue had 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in a double-double performance against Charlotte for his top game last season.
Maxim Logue stats, scouting report as UNC basketball transfer portal player
Logue won’t be listed among the top transfer portal players in the rankings, but he could be a valuable depth piece for UNC, which had to replace Zayden High (South Florida). Of his 84 shot attempts, 81 of them were on the interior, with a team-high 28 dunks. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Maxim Logue fit with UNC basketball roster under Michael Malone
With Zayden High at South Florida and James Brown in the transfer portal, UNC desperately needed some post depth. As of Wednesday, April 22, the Tar Heels continue to wait for 7-foot starting center Henri Veesaar to make a decision on his future. If Veesaar returns for UNC, Logue gives the Heels a solid backup option as a rim runner and rebounder.
