UNC Basketball Great Tyler Hansbrough elected to Hall of Fame

In a well-deserved honor, Tyler Hansbrough, the legendary UNC basketball player, has been elected to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition cements his status as one of the greatest players in Tar Heel history, with an impressive resume that includes a 2009 NCAA Championship, four-time first-team All-America honors, and being the ACC’s all-time leading scorer with 2,872 points.

He holds the NCAA career record for made free throws with 982 and is the only player in ACC history to earn first-team All-America and first-team All-ACC honors four times. His dominance on the court earned him numerous awards, including the 2008 USBWA National Player of the Year and the 2009 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
