The North Carolina Tar Heels are hoping to hear some good news on Friday in terms of a big recruiting target.
On Friday, five-star forward DeMarcus Henry will officially announce his college decision. It comes just days after he completed a visit to North Carolina’s campus, giving Michael Malone and his staff the chance to impress him. Henry becomes a priority recruit for Malone as he has yet to land a commitment in the 2027 class.
As Henry is getting ready to make his decision, coaches are making a final push. That includes Malone and the Tar Heels who were in Arizona to visit Compass Prep and Henry on Wednesday.
North Carolina is making a real push for Henry as they need a centerpiece to their 2027 class.
The 6-foot-7, 190-pound small forward is a Charlotte native but moved to Arizona to play at Compass Prep. He’s ranked No. 4 nationally, the No. 1 small forward, and No. 1 player in the state of Arizona per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
