The past few weeks have been busy for the North Carolina Tar Heels and head coach Michael Malone out on the recruiting trail. This past week, the program was at the Peach Jam checking out some of the top overall players in future recruiting classes.
With this being Malone’s first true recruiting cycle, it’s important he turns in a really good class. While North Carolina has yet to land a commitment from a player in 2027 or 2028, they are working hard to build their recruiting board. And now we can add another name to the recruiting board.
On Friday, the Tar Heels officially offered four-star small forward Asa Montgomery, doing so after watching him at the Peach Jam.
Montgomery now has a total of 14 offers in his recruitment with programs like Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Florida State, and Louisville among others offering him. With North Carolina getting involved, Malone and his staff are officially jumping in the race to try and land him.
The 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward hails from Powder Springs, Georgia and is ranked No. 42 nationally, the No. 1 small forward and No. 6 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
