Michael Malone and the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to navigate through the recruiting waters this Fall.
With Malone being hired back in April, this is the first true recruiting class that he and his staff will be a part of at North Carolina. The 2027 class is a very important one for the Tar Heels as they need to land some big targets they have on their recruiting board. But on Saturday, news broke that the Tar Heels are no longer recruiting a target on their board.
Tar Heel 247’s David Sisk reported on Saturday that the program is no longer recruiting five-star center Darius Wabbington. His father told Sisk that UNC is out of the running, as the program retracted its offer to the center and the official visit is now cancelled.
Wabbington also cancelled his Louisville visit recently as well. The Phoenix, Arizona product is a five-star recruit who is ranked No. 12 nationally, No. 2 center, and the No. 3 player in the state of Arizona per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
