Liverpool are interested in Tosin Adarabioyo. The Reds could suffer another unexpected transfer blow this summer. After completely overhauling their midfield in 2023, Liverpool may need to overhaul their defense in 2024.
Jurgen Klopp’s surprise announcement that he will leave the club at the end of the season has cast serious doubt over the future of many of Liverpool’s top stars. Those doubts have been fueled by recent comments from captain Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires in 2025.
After Liverpool’s FA Cup victory over Norwich City, the Dutchman was asked if he would be part of the post-Klopp era. “It’s a big question. “I do not know.” replied Van Dyke. When reminded that he only has 18 months left on his current deal, the Dutchman said: Listen, I don’t know.
“It is a known fact that the club has a lot of work ahead of it. Employees leave to replace managers as well as managers, and many things change. So the club has a lot of work ahead of it and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.
“Red eyes to shinVan Dijk is likely to stay at Anfield next season, but the same cannot be said for Joel Matip, who is out of contract in the summer and is currently struggling with a cruciate ligament injury.
Klopp previously hoped the club would “do the right thing” and hand him a new contract, but there is no guarantee the 32-year-old will stay next season. A replacement must be named and according to the Daily Mail, that replacement could be Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.
The 26-year-old is out of contract this summer and there has been speculation he will leave Craven Cottage.
The Manchester City academy graduate recently attracted interest from AC Milan, but with the January transfer window delayed, he looks unlikely to leave the Premier League. Tosin is highly regarded at Anfield, so Liverpool’s interest is not surprising.
