VICTOR OSIMHEN TO JOIN CHELSEA: Instead of being linked with other right-wingers, numerous reports claimed that Liverpool are interested in signing Osimhen from Napoli next summer.
Italian journalist Valter De Maggio went as far as claiming an agreement has been reached between Liverpool and Osimhen over a transfer in 2024.
However, those links have quietened down over the last few weeks, and if the Evening Standard‘s latest report on the situation is to be believed, Osimhen is open to a move to Chelsea. The outlet claims that the Blues have received encouragement that the Napoli striker would be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. But, for that, they may have to wait until the summer to get the deal done.
Napoli signed Osimhen for around £70 million in 2020 (€81.3m, GFFN). Now, they’re expected to demand well over £100 million for his signature in 2024.
Chelsea are improving under Mauricio Pochettino this season. But it is quite evident that they lack a prolific goalscorer up front. Victor Osimhen is one of the most clinical forwards in the world right now. And if Chelsea can sign the ‘powerful‘ Nigerian in 2024, they will surely become a driving force in the Premier League.
