Fábio Carvalho has been discussing his future at Liverpool after joining Hull City on loan in January, with the Tigers keen on a permanent transfer if they win promotion.
Liverpool youngster Fábio Carvalho has refused to rule out a summer exit as Hull City hopes to keep him if it secures a return to the Premier League. The 21-year-old joined the Championship side in January after a difficult spell with RB Leipzig, where he started just three times.
Carvalho had found his opportunities limited at Liverpool last season and it was decided that a short-term move would be best for his development. He has impressed since joining Hull and scored three times in nine appearances for the club.
Hull has lost just two of its last nine matches in the Championship to push itself back into play-off contention. His future at Anfield is uncertain though with Liverpool’s next manager likely to make a decision on the current players out on loan in the summer.
Carvalho insists he is not thinking about leaving Liverpool right now and his focus remains on playing for Hull. “I just want to concentrate on where I am now, which is Hull, and whatever else happens will happen,” he told i sport. “Obviously there’s going to be a few changes but I’ll just leave it to God and wherever he guides me, I’ll go.”
Hull is eager to keep hold of the Portugal Under-21s star but expects Liverpool to demand a hefty fee for the player. Carvalho cost Liverpool $6.4m (£5m/€5.9m) when he arrived from Fulham in 2022.
Hull’s executive vice chairman Tan Kesler said: “[He has] a Premier League level salary [and] Liverpool are going to demand quite a bit of a transfer fee for him. The chairman would want to sign him, he would do it in a heartbeat, if there’s no FFP, no regulations, no control, I’m sure we will invest to sign Fábio.
