Van Dijk’s comments were echoed by his manager, Arne Slot, who was also critical of Taylor’s performance. “I think it’s clear that the referee had a difficult game,” Slot said. “There were some big decisions that went against us, and that’s frustrating.

“But we can’t control the referee’s decisions. What we can control is how we respond to them, and I thought our players showed a lot of character and resilience today.”

 

The draw with Tottenham was a disappointing result for Liverpool, who would have been expecting to win against a team that has been struggling for consistency.
