We might be in February, but the January transfer window remains open. There is just a matter of hours remaining though for sides to get business done.

 

It looks set to be a quiet final day in the market for Premier League sides though. A number of top sides, including Liverpool, are unlikely to chase any last-minute deals after what has been a quiet start to 2024.

FFP/PSR concerns are a big reason behind the lack of activity, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United not looking to rock the boat. Liverpool has no such concerns, although Jürgen Klopp appears happy with the options currently at his disposal as his side chases four trophies this season.

Despite the lack of incomings, there could still be some outgoings from some of the Premier League’s top sides. Arsenal is among those that look set to offload a few names, while Manchester United’s attempts to do the same look to have run into some issues.

Aston Villa set to sign Arsenal wonderkid

Arsenal is set to let Lino Sousa move to Aston Villa on a permanent transfer before the window shuts, according to football.london. The 19-year-old joined the Gunners from West Brom in 2022, but already looks to be heading out of the exit door at the Emirates Stadium.

Sousa was fast-tracked into senior training in North London, although he has found his path to the first team blocked by the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber. Villa is said to have beaten off interest from Juventus and Galatasaray in order to secure his signature.
