Liverpool have been drawn against Sparta Prague in the Europa League round-of-16.
Liverpool’s top-of-the-table Premier League clash against Manchester City will be sandwiched between Europa League clashes against Sparta Prague next month.
The Reds will travel to the Stadion Letna for the first leg of the round-of-16 fixture on March 7. The Czech side will then visit Anfield seven days later for the second leg on March 14.
In between those two games, Liverpool will pit their wits against Pep Guardiola’s City side in the Premier League, with the two sides separated by just four points as the league season gears up for a sprint finish.
Liverpool were one of eight unseeded sides for Thursday’s draw in Nyon due to finishing top of Group E ahead of Toulouse, Union Saint-Gilloise and LASK and therefore were afforded the luxury of having the second leg on home soil.
For Jurgen Klopp’s side, those ties will set in motion a busy month of football at Anfield as the Reds host six games across all competitions. Here are Liverpool’s fixtures in all competitions for March now that their Europa League opponents have been confirmed.
Saturday, March 2 – Nottingham Forest (A)
Thursday, March 7 – Sparta Prague (A)
Sunday, March 10 – Manchester City (H)
Thursday, March 14 – Sparta Prague (H)
Sunday, March 17 – Everton (A)
Sunday, March 31 – Brighton & Hove Albion (H)
