Gary O’Neil has claimed Pedro Neto is “incredibly happy” at Wolves amid transfer links to Liverpool.
Neto has been in fine form at Molineux this season with six assists in nine Premier League matches. One of those came against Liverpool in September. While the Reds eventually ran out 3-1 winners in the Black Country, the Portugal international proved a difficult player to tame. Reports have suggested that Liverpool were scouting the Portuguese international during the most recent international break. Neto featured during Portugal’s emphatic win over Bosnia and Herzegovina as he replaced AC Milan star Rafael Leao shortly after the hour mark.
Aston Villa are also said to be monitoring the 23-year-old’s progress while Arsenal are known to be long-standing admirers.
The speculation over Neto’s future is likely to intensify if he continues shining for Wolves. Their comeback win over AFC Bournemouth at the weekend extended their unbeaten Premier League run to four matches. Meanwhile, interest in Mohamed Salah has sparked the conversation surrounding possible replacements for the Liverpool talisman. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad submitted a verbal offer up to £150m on the eve of the summer transfer deadline for Salah but the Reds remained firm in their stance that he was not far sale.
But amid the links reporting Neto as a possible long-term replacement for the Egyptian, O’Neil has no concerns, as he explained on Monday Night Football.
